After reading a recent NY Times article on plastic water bottles, a group of us enlisted our Unitarian congregation to use the tap instead. Tallahassee has quality water that could be bottled if the City was so inclined! We continue to distribute free bottles to be used when walking, traveling or other times we want to carry our water with us. We gave up using paper plates, disposable coffee cups, etc. Then, we purchased and installed solar panels and are generating our own electricity for the buildings. Today, after our monthly potluck lunch, we announced our first composting effort.
Down with plastics!
