I have been on my own plastic free challenge since the begining of the year...here is where I stand:

Plastic So FarMost of the plastic I already had in my home, but some unfortunitly that I have bought or used in the past two weeks. Most of it seems to be recyclable, but some is not...like the styrafoam cups from dinner one night

Styrofoam is extremely recyclable. It's #6 and it doesn't matter if it has a number on it or not, as styrofoam is easily recognized by you and automatically recognized by recycling processes

Food service items, such as cups, plates, bowls, cutlery, hinged takeout containers (clamshells), meat and poultry trays, and rigid food containers (e.g., yogurt). These items may be made with foamed or non-foamed PS.
